Figure 5, below, is a copy of Mr. W's image from the previous page (figure 2) . I have increased the brightness and gamma in the highlighted circle. I have also added two green arrows. Arrow A points to what Mr. W believes is a "gash" in the RCC. Arrow B points to a shuttle bay door latch.

Figure 6, below, is a copy of the zoomed image from the previous page (figure 4). Just as in figure 5 above, I have increased the brightness and gamma in the highlighted circle and added the two green arrows. As in figure 4 on the previous page, no resampling to a higher resolution has been done in this image so each small square represents just one pixel in the original NASA STS-107 image. Note that Mr. W's "gash" is a feature that is just one pixel wide by six pixels long at the original resolution of the NASA STS-107 image. There will be more about this alleged gash later.
