This Pitts S-2 is one of the two planes that Captain Johannsson brought over from Iceland in the cargo hold.  The other plane was his Piper J-3 Cub.

So what is the white dot in the engine inlet on the previous page?  The white dot is painted slightly off shaft axis so that when the engine is running, something will appear to be moving in that dark cavernous inlet.  Is this done to alert humans?  Nope, it is done to alert birds.  The industry has learned that birds will avoid the rotating dot.  Sometimes a spiral is painted instead.  Now let's investigate more of AeroShell Square.
