To say that Bruce Bohannon was displeased with his three successive failures to establish records this year at Oshkosh is perhaps an understatement.  "This was kind of  a black eye for me", he said.  He had hoped to establish or break three separate world records for piston-powered aircraft with one flight.  The three records are a new time-to-climb (C-1 unlimited), altitude in horizontal flight (class C-1B, 1,100-2,200 pounds), and absolute altitude (C-1B).  He hopes to try again before year's end.  The Exxon Flying Tiger is basically an RV-4 with a suped-up IO-540 engine.
