This is a Chance Vought F4U-5 Corsair. The prototype Corsair first flew in 1940. Over 12,500 of the P&W R-2800 powered fighters were built in a succession of variants during its ten year production run.
Retired Navy F-14 pilot Dale Snodgrass will fly this F4U-5 Corsair in several demos during the show. Of the Corsair, Dale said, "Below 20,000 feet, the Corsair will beat the Mustang in a one-on-one gunfight."
