This is a de Havilland DHC-1B Chipmunk. The Chipmunk first flew in 1946. Close to 1,300 Chipmunks were built in Canada, England, and under license in Portugal. This trainer was operated by the RAF, RCAF, and a handful of other air forces. The engine is a 145 hp de Havilland Gypsy Major 8, a 6.13 liter (374 ci) four-cylinder in-line.
